This design is a product offering for Proclamation Goods, a company that created a clever pot & pan named the "Duo" which takes the place of extraneous cookware in your kitchen. Calling it the Prep Duo, my design is a bowl system that complements the attributes of [the Duo pan's] multi-functionality and ability to fit into each other. My primary objective is to assist users when preparing a meal, following a complicated recipe, transferring ingredients, and optimizing space while cooking.
The Prep Duo allows users to prepare ingredients and make free space on the cutting board in an orderly fashion, giving them multiple ways to organize ingredients and move onto the next task. The bowls can be stacked in a way that optimizes counter space while allowing users to identify the lower bowl's contents. The Prep Duo's form references Proclamation Good's dinner bell triangle logo with the flat side providing additional functions as a way to scoop ingredients, aligning with the edge of the cutting board for transfer, or grouping with neighboring bowls for sequencing ingredients according to a recipe. The lids can be used as a container itself, or simply allow a user to cover ingredients for later use.
Made of ceramic, the Prep Duo also allows a user to roast small ingredients in one or more of the bowls—ambitious users could make small soufflés in them. The ceramic design and shape are elegant enough to also serve small appetizers or sauces to guests at the dining table.
