Presented here are some of the projects I have worked on in my education, and experience, in learning a variety of three-dimensional solid and surface modeling software applications. I welcome any and all feedback, enjoy!

SolidWorks

As a part of reintroducing myself to SolidWorks after a decade or so hiatus, using it again was a refreshing change from Fusion 360, my more commonly used application given my penchant for Apple computers. The projects depicted below were from the Digital Solid Modeling course at the Academy, entirely modeled and rendered in SolidWorks.

Modo

Most recently I had an introduction to the rapid prototyping surface modeling software Modo, from the Foundry. Mostly focused on soft-goods modeling and footwear, I hope to explore this powerful software further with creations in animation and rendering.

CLO 3D

During my time working as an intern at New Balance, I dipped my toe briefly into learning CLO3D and thoroughly enjoyed the software to the extent that I took on the challenge of creating patterns from scratch without any formal training in pattern-making of clothing. Emulating apparel that I have around my apartment like the familiar SRAM beanie I am frequently wearing that I have rebranded and styled in a New Balance way (pure fiction), creating a holiday sweater as a practice pattern suggested by the team’s 3D apparel manager, to creating a cycling jersey to complement the Equity shoe project I completed at AAU.

Fusion 360

Projects ranging from Product Design classes to at-home solutions and 3d-printed models, most are rendered in Fusion itself or in Keyshot.

Alias

This was a small digital modeling project to demonstrate the usage of Autodesk’s fantastic surface modeling software called Alias. I thought of this handheld portable medical device as a product concept that would have compound surfaces for modeling in Alias. As a product the design would feature user interface components like LED indicator lights, miniature data display screen, and a touch user input interface that would be capable of reading a patient’s pulse, blood oxygen levels, and medical identification through a fingerprint. As a part of the class, there was also the creation and rendering of a clock, I opted to render it in a Matrix theme complete with the blue or red pills.
